Visit Lucca in the footsteps of Giacomo Puccini

Travel in Italy

22-04-2021

Lucca is located in the Tuscany region, very close to Florence. This is the place where you can still see many of the places that the famous composer used to frequent.

Surely one of the places we have to visit to follow in the footsteps of Master Giacomo Puccini is the house where he was born.

This house is located in Lucca and has been opened to the public as a museum to visit. In this museum you will find all the things of the composer and they talk about the life and works of Puccini. This museum is located in Piazza Cittadella in the heart of the city. The Puccini family was actually originally from Celle, a town in the hills of Lucca.

Another of the places that without a doubt we cannot miss is the Duomo di San Martino, which inside still protects the pair of Organs with which Puccini practiced when he was a teenager. Very close to the duomo is the Teatro del Giglio in which Puccini performed many times.

Despite the fact that Giacomo Puccini used to travel a lot for entertainment purposes, he always returned to his place of origin, which was Lucca. He used to stay in different places very close to the city such as Viareggio, Chiatri and Celle. Here the composer relaxed and was inspired by his compositions.

Without a doubt, Giacomo Puccini was one of the greatest artists of all times. If you want to follow in his footsteps with us, don't forget to book a Lucca shore trip and we will love to accompany you on the tour.
