Once out of the Vatican Museums you will enter the Sistine Chapel with its beautiful ceiling and the Last Judgment by Michelangelo. From here a special passage will allow you to enter the stunning St. Peter’s Basilica avoiding queues once again. Designed by Bramante, Michelangelo and Bernini, St. Peter's Basilica is the most famous church and one of the holiest places in the world. St Peter's Basilica was built on the site of St. Peter’s burial place: you will explore it with your guide and then step out into the beautiful St.Peter’s Square, where you will admire the elegant Colonnade commissioned to Bernini by Pope Alexander VII.

PLEASE NOTE: in case St Peter's Basilica is closed for religious functions, you will spend longer time in the Vatican galleries with your guide. The Basilica is a Church and as such the Vatican can decide to use it for religious functions without notice.
