Day Trip from Venice to the Dolomites: Pieve di Cadore, Misurina Lake and Cortina D’Ampezzo

The first stop of this Day Trip from Venice will be in the little town of Pieve di Cadore, once the small capital of the area of Cadore and strongly connected to the Republic of Venice. Pieve di Cadore is also famous for being the hometown of one of the greatest Renaissance Masters, Titian. Born from a respected family of artists, the painter owes a lot to his hometown. Look carefully at some of his paintings and you will recognize the familiar outline of the craggy mountains that surround the town! 

Time to enjoy a good coffee break and continue your tour to Misurina lake, the greatest natural lake of Cadore. Take your time to relax and take in the beautiful, peaceful landscape. This lake is absolutely one of a kind in its features: not only is it 1,754 mt above sea level, but it is also believed to be able to cure people suffering from several respiratory diseases, thanks to the peculiar climatic characteristics of the area around the lake.

After your pit stop your driver will bring you to the glamorous city of Cortina D’Ampezzo. Situated on the Boite river, in an Alpine valley, it is a popular winter sport resort surrounded by the Dolomites all along its border. Walk on the pedestrian island in the heart of the town for an unmissable opportunity to shop for the best italian brands!

Your driver will bring you back to Venice at around 6pm: your Day trip to the Dolomites is over but the memories you have created will last forever!
