Tour description

If you want to discover all of the Baroque highlights of Rome, whilst also seeing the main sites of Ancient Rome in just one day then our Archaeology and Baroque Rome in a Day private tour is the right choice for you. You will meet your enthusiastic private guide at the Colosseum and start your tour visiting the impressive amphitheater, where famous gladiators fought their famous bloody combats against lions and tigers or against other gladiators. You will enter the Colosseum with pre-booked access. Our private guide will engage you in the fasinating history of the Colosseum, the life of the gladiators and the power of the senators and emperors. You will then reach the Roman Forum, once the center of life in Ancient Rome. The Roman Forum was the main square where all important events, such as the market, processions, public speeches and trails, used to take place. Here you will admire the stunning ruins of Ancient Roman buildings. Your next stop will be the Capitol Hill. This is the place where the citadel of the early inhabitants of Ancient Rome was located. Here you will admire the fabulous square designed by Michelangelo.

Afterwards, with our Archaeology and Baroque Rome in a Day Tour tour you will begin your discovery of Baroque Rome. You will stop at the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Afterwards, you will hit some of the most beautiful churches in Rome, perhaps less well-known but definitely worth a visit. You will visit the Church of St. Ignatius with its fake dome. Afterwards, you will go to the Church of St. Luis of the French, where amazing paintings by Caravaggio are preserved, or to the beautiful Church of St. Agostino. Your last two stops on your Baroque Rome in a day will be Pietra Square and Navona Square where you will admire one of Bernini’s masterpieces: the Fountain of the Four Rivers.

With this tour you will be accompanied by our expert private guide, their enthusiasm for their city will be infectious as you get to know the beating heart of Rome.
