If you are short on time in Rome, or just want to tick off the ‘biggies’ in one day then our Colosseum & Vatican small group tour is perfect for you. You will join a small friendly group of maximum 24 people and be lead by a fully licensed and enthusiastic guide, to ensure you get the most out of your visits. You will meet your guide and group at 8:30am or 9:15am every day except on Wednesday and Sunday in front of Cafe Vaticano. You will enter the Vatican Museums with skip the line tickets, as we prepurchase the voucher for your group. Whilst waiting to pass the mandatory security checks, your top guide will explain to you the Sistine Chapel (explanation's are not permitted inside the Chapel itself). As you walk through the numerous Vatican Galleries your expert guide will point out all the highlights and explain to you the fascinating history of the Vatican state. From the Vatican Galleries, you will continue to Michelangelo’s resplendent Sistine Chapel. The Sistine Chapel’s frescoed ceiling and awe-inspiring Last Judgement fresco will leave you speechless. Your visit will be enhanced by your guide’s explanation of Michelangelo’s masterpiece. The Vatican portion of your Colosseum & Vatican small group tour will finish in St Peter’s Basilica, where you will gain skip the line access through a special passageway from the Sistine Chapel.
Take a small break to refresh and eat a quick lunch before you rejoin your group at our office near the Colosseum. Please note you will need to make your own way from the Vatican to the Colosseum. Your small group tour of Colosseum & Vatican will continue with a fascinating exploration of Ancient Rome. Again you will be accompanied by an expert licensed guide as you visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. You will follow in the footsteps of the Gladiators as you enter the Colosseum through the actual entrance the Gladiators used to use before their infamous combats. This entrance is a special fast track reservation and will lead you out directly onto the Colosseum’s arena (usually closed off to the general public.) From here you will also visit the main areas of the Colosseum, as your guide thrills you with fascinating anecdotes of this world-renowned arena. You will continue to learn about life in everyday Rome as you visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill together with your guide and group.

Please wear comfortable shoes. This tour is not wheelchair accessible.
Remember to follow the dresscode for the Vatican: you must be able to cover your shoulder and knees.
PLEASE NOTE: in case St Peter's Basilica is closed for religious functions, you will spend longer time in the Vatican galleries with your guide. The Basilica is a Church and as such the Vatican can decide to use it for religious functions without notice.
Please note that in certain periods of summer time, or when the Vatican Museums reopen its doors after bank holidays, the museums might be busier than usual.
SECURITY CHECKS: When accessing the monument the Colosseum visitors will be asked to pass security checks, even when entering with pre-booked tickets or vouchers.
NOT ALLOWED: Please make sure you DO NOT have pointed big umbrellas and knives of any sizes with you. Liquids are allowed but only if in plastic bottles. Remember that you can refill your containers in the fountains inside the Colosseum.
BAGS: Back bags are allowed inside the Colosseum if very small in size; shoulder bags or handbags are permitted if regular size.
In adverse weather conditions the Colosseum administration may close the arena floor and dungeons for safety reasons. In this case you will enter through a different entrance and spend longer in other parts of the Colosseum
