For our Ancient Ostia Day Trip, you will have a fully licensed private guide and a private driver with mercedes car or minivan at your complete disposal for 4 hours. You will be picked up from your hotel or apartment in central Rome, ready to depart on a day trip to Ancient Ostia.
In Ostia you will visit the beautifully preserved archaeological site of Ancient Ostia (Ostia Antica) accompanied by a private guide his in an expert in classical civilization. The ruins of Ancient Ostia date back to the 2nd Century and are still marvelously intact today. You will walk along Roman roads, you will admire ancient Roman temples, squares, baths, houses…it will be like in a time machine going back into centuries!
Our private guide will be able to tell you all about life in the Ancient Roman period, you will learn how Ancient Romans used to live and what they used to eat. You will also learn all about the port town of Ancient Ostia and the relation it had with Rome politically, religiously and geographically.
