However, you won’t visit only Sistine Chapel.
This exclusive Tour includes sites usually closed to the general public such as the Chapel of Nicholas V, painted by Fra Angelico and Benozzo Gozzoli in 1447. This chapel preserved the amazing frescoes representing the life of St. Stephen and St. Lawrence. Among the unique restricted areas, you will also see the Bramante Staircase, commissioned by the Pope Julius the II and projected by the first architect of the Basilica of St. Peter’s, called Donato Bramante.
The Bramante Staircase is an amazing project realized in the 1500s: a double helix staircase that enables people to go up and down at the same time without meeting each other. Guests of the Pope were also allowed to do it on their horses. In the last restricted area of the Cabinet of the Masks you will be stunned by mosaics from Hadrian’s Villa inserted on the floor and beautiful roman statues.
On your visit you will also walk through the magnificent Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of the Maps and Gallery of Tapestry, in order to reach Raphael’s Rooms, painted by Raphael for the Pope Julius the II.
Do not miss the VIP opportunity to stay with your intimate group inside the Sistine Chapel, once the throng of the day left, absorbed in the majesty and grace of Michelangelo frescoes.
You will be able to be by yourself for about 20 to 30 minutes and contemplate the ceiling of the vault of the Sistine Chapel with the Creation of the world, Noah’s life and the Last Judgment, painted when Michelangelo was already 61 years old.
