Depending on the option you choose, you will visit the Vatican at either 7:30am or 8:30am. You will meet your guide and group and then enter the Vatican Museums with skip the line tickets. It will be great to visit bright and early before the doors to the Vatican open to the general public at 9am. Whilst you wait to pass the security checks your enthusiastic guide will explain the Sistine Chapel (explanations are not permitted inside the chapel itself). During your 3 hours small group Vatican tour you will avoid the main crowds and the heat of the day in the summertime. As you tour the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica you will be blown away by your guide's knowledge of the artwork housed inside and the history of the Vatican.
You will be able to have a break to get some lunch and return to your hotel to refresh, before meeting your private English-speaking driver. At 2pm, with a luxury car or minivan just for your party, your driver will take you on a 4-hour excursion to Santa Severa Castle. Santa Severa Castle has located on the coast just a 50 minute drive from Rome. You may have never heard of Castle Santa Severa before but it is a real hidden gem. You can buy your entrance fees on site. In order to learn all about Santa Severa Castle's rich history we suggest purchasing an audioguide as well. You will be able to enjoy a wine-tasting, climb the castle's tower for spectacular views and even touch the artefacts housed inside Castle Santa Severa's museum.
Your driver will make sure you are back in Rome with plenty of time to come to our office for 7pm to explore the Colosseum and Ancient Rome. In our office, you will be greeted with more than just a smile, as you are handed a glass of prosecco and can enjoy a buffet of some Roman treats before your tour starts. You will meet the rest of your small group and your guide before heading out to explore Ancient Rome's intriguing past. The first part of this 3-hour visit will be an external walking tour of the ruins of the Roman and Imperial Forum on Via Fori Imperiali. Your guide will wow your group with tales of Rome's ancient past. When you reach the Colosseum your guide will hand you over to a guide of the Colosseum. Not only will your group get to visit the Colosseum after it has closed to the general public, you will also see two areas usually closed off to the public (the dungeons and arena floor).
This is sure to be a day that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
