Join our Semi-Private Tour of the Colosseum with Underground and Roman Forum!
The tour is in a group of up to 13 people with an enthusiastic English speaking guide who will lead you through the Ancient Roman sites. You will visit the areas usually closed to the general public such as the Arena and the Underground and skip the lines to enter the Colosseum. Your tour proceeds to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.
The meeting with your expert guide and the rest of the group is at our office, located near the Colosseum. First of all, our staff will give you headsets to ensure that you can hear the guide really clearly for the whole tour. With the rest of the group and your guide, you will go to the Colosseum. On the way, you will receive a great introduction by your licensed, enthusiastic guide.
At the Colosseum, you will enter through the skip the line entrance for groups, avoiding the long queue for the entrance. Once inside, you will first visit the arena of the Colosseum. You will walk in the footstep of Gladiators. You will have the chance to walk on the stage, the place where gladiators used to fight. Your guide will enthrall you with stories of the battles that took place in this very spot 2000 years ago!
The next part of your visit is to the underground of the Colosseum. Here Gladiators and animals were held before their fights and battles. After the visit of the Colosseum and its restricted areas, you will proceed to the second tier of the Colosseum and from here you can admire a great view of the city and over the Roman Forum.
From the Colosseum, you will go with your guide to the Palatine Hill. It was the place where Emperors and noble families used to build their palaces due to the sublime view over the Circus Maximus and the rest of the city. From Palatine Hill, you will go down to the Roman Forum, the heart of public life, where you can admire the ruins of squares, temples and markets still standing today. Your guide will fascinate you with entertaining information about Ancient Roman life and their customs. You are sure to leave this tour with a thorough understanding of Ancient Rome and a hunger to know more!
