You can choose between a morning or afternoon departure (contact us should you wish to modify the start time) to visit the Santa Severa Castle, just north of Rome. In under one hour, your English-speaking private driver with luxury car or minivan will accompany you to Santa Severa. The first thing that will strike you about Santa Severa Castle is its breath-taking location, perched on the clear, blue sea. At Santa Severa Castle there is a small entrance fee to pay on site (8 Euros for adults) and you can also purchase an audioguide for a supplement. We recommend taking an audioguide to help you get to grips with the Santa Severa Castle's long history. Although it is predominantly a medieval fortress, the site of Santa Severa Castle has a history which dates back to the Bronze Age.
As you walk around Santa Severa Castle, you will see original artefacts. For all wannabee photographers, you are not going to want to miss a climb up the tower. From here you will have wonderful views over the bay and you can take some fantastic snaps! Before your private driver accompanies you back to Rome, why not round of your visit with a wine-tasting of local organic wines and snacks.
On your return to Rome, you should make your way to our office for 7pm. You will be welcomed at check-in by our friendly staff with a glass of prosecco and some local nibbles. You will be introduced to your expert guide of Ancient Rome and the rest of your group (max 25 participants). Time to head off on an exploration of Ancient Rome's history, you will head down to Venice Square. From here you will make your way along Via Fori Imperiali; constructed by Mussolini the street is lined with Roman ruins of the Imperial and Roman Forums. Your guide will explain to your group all about the history of these Ancient Roman ruins, until you reach the Colosseum. The showstopper, you will enter the Colosseum after closing to the general public. The atmosphere will be unforgettable as you tour the Colosseum by night. Accompanied by the Colosseum's guide, you will visit the Colosseum's dungeons and arena (restricted areas) as well as the first two levels. During your whole Colosseum night tour you will benefit from your guide's fascinating anecdotes about Rome's most iconic building.
