Travel back in time to Ancient Rome and discover with our guide and a small group of people the amazing Dungeons of the Colosseum and the Arena! Skip the line reservation to the restricted areas of the Colosseum, to the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill for a 3.5 hours guided tour.
Join our Colosseum Dungeons Tour and then visit the Roman Forum with our small group tour. The Dungeons, along with the Arena are usually closed to the general public and can only be visited through a special reservation. The Colosseum Underground Tour will let you join a small and friendly group of up to 24 people. You will have an English-speaking guide for 3 hours, who will guide you through the Colosseum Restricted Areas (Dungeons and Arena), the other areas of the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.
You will meet your guide and the rest of your small, friendly group at our office, conveniently located near the entrance to the Roman Forum and about 5 minutes walk from the Colosseum. Your group will receive headsets to ensure you that you can clearly hear your guide at all times. Your enthusiastic, licensed guide will then begin with a short introduction to Ancient Rome whilst your group heads to the Colosseum.
At the Colosseum you will enter through a skip-the-line group entrance, avoiding the long queue for tickets. Once inside, a member of staff will be on-hand to open the restricted areas of the Colosseum just for your group! Like the gladiators of Ancient Rome, you will step out onto the arena, where fights would take place. With your guide to explain the spectacles that took place in this magnificent theater you will almost be able to hear the roars of the crowd! However, the life of a gladiator was not all fame and glory. You will also learn about the more gory aspects of their lives. Where better to view this than in the dungeons, where they and the animals were held before the famous combats? You will enter the world-renowned Colosseum Undergrounds. Here gladiators and wild animals were kept before being brought up to the arena, through a sophisticated system of pulleys. After the Restricted Areas, you tour will continue to the Second Tier of the Colosseum, from which you can enjoy a view over Rome's city center, and to the Roman Forum, the center of public life in Ancient Rome. “Forum” literally means “square” and this was the place where all important events in Rome took place: triumphal processions, public speeches, elections, trials and commercial transactions. The ruins will be brought to life by your guide and you will really get a feel for everyday life for the Ancient Romans
