Tour description

With this fun tour for families you will discover Florence through its flavors and culinary traditions visiting the Central Market with an engaging child-friendly guide. You will also follow in the footsteps of Leonardo Da Vinci in the Da Vinci Museum and visit other major spots in Florence, which are perfect for families with kids. The whole family is guaranteed to have great time with a child-friendly food tour in Florence and an exploration of some of the city’s greatest monuments.

Our “Da Vinci Museum Tour and Market tastings for Families” is the perfect tour for you if you want to have your children experience both the history and the food traditions of Florence. With your child-friendly private guide you will begin the tour in the Central Market. If you are a foodie, this is the right place for you to discover the ingredients of Tuscan cuisine. Dating back to 1874, on the ground floor you will find butchers and stands offering cheese, cold cuts, bread, pasta, wine, etc.. This is the ideal location for a food tour in Florence! Your kids will love trying real Tuscan and Italian cuisine.

At the market, our local private guide will point out the best places to have food tastings, explaining to you the ingredients and the secrets of Florentine cuisine through the ages. Fun and interactive, your kids will have a great time with a food tour in Florence as they get to literally taste the flavors of the city.

From the market you will proceed to Leonardo Da Vinci Museum, where you will enjoy a Da Vinci Museum tour. This is going to be a favorite place of your children! Here you will actually be able to admire and touch the machines created by Leonardo Da Vinci. During a Da Vinci Museum tour “not touching” is forbidden!! Your kids will learn loads from your private guide during this hands on experience.

Your next stop will be the Duomo of Florence, also known as Cathedral of St. Mary of the Flower. Afterwards, you will proceed to Palazzo Vecchio, the political center of Florence. Here you will see the Hall of Maps and you can decide to climb up to the top of the tower where you will enjoy a panoramic view on Florence!

Please note that children under 6 years old are not allowed to climb the tower of Palazzo Vecchio.
